Alberto has worked in the analytics and business information industry for the last 20 years. Prior to founding alva, Alberto held senior management roles at Datamonitor and Cision.

With alva, Alberto has developed business intelligence solutions for some of the largest companies in the world.

He is a regular speaker on corporate reputation and risk, a Visiting Professor at Cass Business School and sits on the USA Board of City University.

Alastair Pickering

Co-Founder and Managing Director UK

Alastair has held management and leadership positions in the media intelligence and reputation management industry for the past 10 years.

Alastair is a passionate believer in the science of corporate reputation analysis and its practical application to drive stakeholder value. He works closely with customers, analysts and academics to ensure alva’s methodology remains leading edge and constantly evolving.

Richard Fleming
Richard Fleming
Co-Founder and CTO

Richard is a published research author and qualified financial analyst.

Prior to alva, Richard successfully built the first global infrastructure team for Clifford Chance, and co-founded a wireless tech company, taking the business from concept to profitability.

He also spent several years in equity research, with listed tech companies in the UK on M&A, strategy review and financial forecasting.

Director of Operations

Calin has more than 8 years’ experience in product and project management roles with tech companies.

Calin has created and overseen software projects throughout their entire life cycle and has extensive project management experience with design and development teams, agile methodologies and scaling-up technology enterprises.

Erika Alter
Erika Alter

Erika Alter is the Chief Marketing Office at alva, where she is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of alva’s brand vision in alignment with our company culture and commercial objectives.

Erika is a seasoned marketer with more than 15 years’ experience positioning major global brands and industry start-ups, including Thomson Reuters, TradeWeb, Interactive Data Corporation (ICE), Data Explorers (Markit) and BISAM (FactSet).

Richard Goldsmith
Richard Goldsmith

Richard is Chief Financial Officer at alva, overseeing financial strategy and operations. Prior to joining alva, Richard was CFO at Quintessentially, a global business with over 60 offices worldwide and total annual revenue in excess of £60m.

Previously, Richard also held a senior finance position at Wall to Wall (a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc.).
Richard trained as an accountant at BDO and gained an ACA qualification in 2007. He holds a BEng (Hons.) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from UMIST.

William Haney
William Haney

William Haney is Director of Big Win Philanthropy, a global foundation that invests in children and young people in developing countries.

He formerly led several divisions at Thomson Reuters, the global information services company serving asset managers, bankers, and corporations, and was an economic consultant with The Services Group, advising developing countries in Latin America and Africa on export-led growth strategies.

William received a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance and Public Policy from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Quentin Boyd is a Senior Adviser at Edmond de Rothschild where he has spent over 20 years as a corporate financier.

Quentin qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London and has an MA in History from Cambridge University.

Oliver Glyn Thomas

Board Director

After a decade with leading growth company investment firms, Summit Partners and HgCapital, Oliver founded CIT Growth Capital to bring capital and partnership to profitable, growing businesses in three sectors: software, information services and online marketplaces. He also sits on the boards of Third Financial Software and Sportpursuit.

Oliver has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MA in Economics & Management from The University of Oxford.
