This report examines the impact that interacting with the metaverse has had on 11 companies over a six-month period.
Key findings of the report are:
- An article reporting that Nike sold an NFT sneaker for $134,000 allowed the company to broadcast their position of being at the forefront of the metaverse.
- Platform Decentraland gains high visibility after Samsung opens a virtual version of its New York City flagship store, “837X”, selling virtual wearables and NFTs.
- The coverage of metaverse-related issues is generally positive with discussion around NFTs and virtual locations being the most impactful content.
- Discussions around virtual locations and NFTs have higher and more sustained visibility than virtual products.
